"As a social documentary photographer even though I try my hardest to work together with the subject, I always have this awkward uncomfortable feeling ... am I really a collaborator or am I actually a predator?"

Photography is the most universal language of our time, bringing us the most assessable form of information to give us a better understanding of the world. I wanted my imagery to make a difference but I am constantly in debate with the morals and ethics of documentary photography. I am starting to focus more on giving people their own skills, and a chance to express their own lives and issues instead of me doing it for them, therefore giving a stronger and more honest representation.

I provide a variety of photographic workshops to groups in the community. These include practical photographic workshops, digital workshops, experimental photography, to fun but educational workshops for children to learn about visual language and explore their own visual awareness.

In addition to this I run projects encouraging and supporting minority groups to use photography to express themselves and share their own vision, experiences, culture and impressions of their environment for others to gain a better understanding.

"My passion is people. Photography is purely just a tool to enable me to work with them"
